What is the ingredient you add to the heated pan after the cumin seed?

  11. Manjula's KitchenSeptember 24, 2013 at 8:03 amReply

Home made paneer yes other wise it crumbles but store bought paneer your choice frying gives different texture to paneer.

why does my rice become like a pappu? 🙁 I tried to use 1,5 cup of water for 1 cup of rice, the top grains are perfect, but lower grains are always like a pappu!

you can add cardimon, cinnamon sticks and bay leaves in the water when you start cooking. for a cup of rice 3 cardimon, 2 cinnamon sticks and one bay leave broken in half.

Just add the bay leave the same time you are adding water.

I notice when i eat out that there is sometimes a bay leave in the basmati rice. Do you ever use this? when should it be added to the recipe? thank you again for these wonderful videos.
