    What I did was I stored chili and garlic in uncooked olive oil for three weeks. Inside I saw bubbles forming and floating upwards, like in a soda for example. Something is definately growing in there and I’m not taking any chances. 😛 I think what you should do is to cook the olive oil, use dried chili and not store it for long. Botulism is serious stuff that can even kill you, and it’s a bitch to get rid of even with hospital care. If something looks, smells or tastes wrong, throw it away.
