That looks mighty tasty. You’re right: bourbon is very American. However, there’s a UK heritage. All those Celts (Scots and Irish) who got sent over to this side of the pond found in the local grain — Indian corn — the perfect base for making whiskey. Though it was rum that helped trigger the American Revolution, it was corn whiskey (bourbon) that became the iconically American spirit after the war — especially as settlers moved inland and started growing huge amounts of corn. So good call.

last time i made a chicken melt sub, i grilled a spatchcocked chicken on a charcoal grill, and chunked it up and used tomato sauce as a cooking sauce and dressing. topped with cheese of parmesan and mozzarella and sprinkled with some oregano, thyme, red chili peppers, basil and parsley.
