I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what a ‘chilli’ is. I live in Texas near Mexico and we have dozens of chili peppers in the grocery. What is this? And yes, I love your recipes.

hmm I mean technically you could but the only problem would be that the dough would be too small to make a large square mutabak. So if you made like mini ones I guess maybe? I haven’t tried it so I can’t say for sure.

I have never heard of making this in the oven so I don’t know how it would work, sorry.

please send it I would like to see it 🙂 facebook .com/shebayemenifood. I also prefer it with just the ingredients as you said without meat. After looking at this video again, I think also what I would do next time to make it easier is to put the stretched out dough on a large griddle and heat it for just a few seconds before I added the filling directly on top. it was a little hard to move it from the table to the griddle when it was uncooked and so large.

I only put eggs, cilantro, tomotoes, garlic, in mine. That’s usually how I got it from the street vendors. So yummmm

I tried your metabakch yesterday and it was a bit raw on the inside because I didn’t get it too thin, but I checked your video again and tried it today and it turned out almost perfect. Do you have a facebook I can send my pictures to? I want to send you pics of any of your recipes that I tried:) Anyway, we ate this instead of samboosa and it was much lighter because samboosa is deep fried. Ramadhan Mubarak.

Could you please make middle eastern rotisserie chicken?

  24. hovigs1September 24, 2013 at 4:30 pmReply

Hi , If we cook it inside the oven would that make a difference in the taste ?

  25. Sheba Yemeni FoodSeptember 24, 2013 at 4:36 pmReply

umm the dough is not oily by itself but it is usually pan-fried, so it is a bit greasy. If you want to make it less oily you can make adjustments such as not adding oil to the dough and coating it in flour instead of oil to toss it out, and cooking it on the stove but with very little or no oil. It’s really up to you.
