Hahahaha Gula merah digunakan hampir di setiap masakan Authentic tradisional Indonesia. Namun sekarang karena banyak produksi gula merah yang dicampur dengan obat-obatan untuk menekan pengeluaran, banyak yang beralih ke gula pasir biasa. selain lebih murah, gampang di dapat, dan ada juga yg beralasan tidak memakai obat2 kimia keras seperti di gula merah oplosan (walaupun sebenarnya gula pasir juga ada yg pakai obat-obatan kimia untuk memutihkannya).

you can use both but the the flavor will be a bit off. but still u can substitute it. Some restaurant here used white sugar and lil bit palm sugar to cut the cost.

No, it is kaffir lime that I used in this video. We sometime use calamansi lime to eat “Bakmi Bangka” or “Bakso”. Its different flavor that I used in Sambal Terasi. I grow kaffir lime in my yard.. so yeah it’s small 🙁 but like you said it’s rough.
I don’t know if i can update that recipe this month… But I will try to update more next month. This month Jakarta will be held Salon Culinaire so I get my hand full of that event..sorry.. m(_ _)m I promise i will upload that recipe. dont worry.

Hi MariskaLim, the lime that you’re using in the video is actually not kaffir lime but calamansi lime. Kaffir lime is different, bigger, rough undulated surface and kaffir lime & kaffir lime leaves are often found in Thai dishes. Btw, can you make a tutorial on how to do Ayam Bakar Taliwang, that super-spicy roasted chicken from Lombok?Thank you!

Saya pakai kemiri. Enak loh. Dicoba dulu aja… kalau ga suka boleh di skip. Sambal kita ada ribuan macam sambal makanya lumrah kalau ada yang beberapa jenis yang kita tidak tahu. Ini resep yang biasa dibuat di rumah saya. Versi sambal mentah nya juga ada nanti kapan-kapan saya upload…
