Wow, that meat looks GREAT! I wish I could buy chunks of meat at my local supermarket, but apparently in Holland we only do small pieces…. Duh.

One of the things I am thankful for here in old blighty is the quality of our meat, especially the beef. Chuck is a brilliant cut and well suited to braising. If it were me doing cooking, I would brown the meat a bit more and I would also soften those onions with the celery and also a carrot. The choice of beer is a bit off in my opinion, for a dish like that I would use a craft beer or British ale, like a porter or stout. A delicious recipe all the same and looks so tender!

Jack, if you want to deglace your pan, don’t use anti-stickpan, there was nothing to deglace…use aluminum frying pan instead!

are those plastic bowls? bad call man. the plastic will seep into your food with the heat. not only bad for your health, but will degrade the taste.
