sesame chicken, or at least the sesame chicken most americans think of when they hear that phrase, isn’t part of traditional chinese cuisine anyway, many dishes like that were invented due to the introduction of western ingredients and cuisine in asia, or at least that’s what I’ve been told by chinese people. I doubt that “authentic” chinese food like pork belly would really appeal to an american audience (though they are very tasty)

Chinese cuisine does not ever use ketchup, never. Ketchup does not exist in the asian culture. This girl is too american for authentic chinese cooking.

Just made it. PERFECT! I think I added too much sesame seeds though, too much can distract you from the perfect taste of the chicken <3 Thanks for this recipe! It's just like the one in Chinese restaurants.

I found the sauce a bit too sweet for my own taste, so I cut out the sugar and added some sesame oil to uh, hm….what’s the word…..balance out(?) the sweetness. I think it went ok. But just out of curiosity (since I didn’t stick completely to your method), does the sweetness of the sauce weaken or strengthen once heated? I assumed it would strengthen
