@leonieke123ke No, potatoes are just the most famous (in the US) gnocchi.
Chestnut flour has long been used to make gnocchi, for instance. Winter
squash are also used.

I want try this dish because Im willing to try new foods, but those morels
look kinda scary to me =/ Could you use any mushrooms or do these really
make the dish? I don’t know very much about mushrooms, so If the morels
aren’t an option, what is it about them that make the dish? Or did you just
choose them for presentation? Thanks! <3

Damn, can you make it with the peas and mushrooms? Because I hate peas and
mushrooms, they don’t go well with my taste buds

I tried this the other night, I really liked it apart from I won’t use
nutmeg at all next time because it made the gnocchi taste like custard. I
don’t think the ricotta I used was strong enough because I didn’t taste any
cheese, so I might put some parmesan or something in the actual dough mix
next time. I also couldn’t find any morel mushrooms so I used shiitake
instead… never use shiitake, they taste like beer and dirt…

I completely agree about no perfectionists in the kitchen

Not the traditional Italian ricotta gnocchi that my Sicilian Nona made, but
it looks tasty. At some point, I’ll do a video and post it with her recipe
and technique. Can’t wait to try your recipe.
