I’ve cooked it for my exam in Gastronomy School. The teacher said that was awesome – and took for another teachers to taste. Other guys also had very nice desserts… But he took only mine

How is it Japanese make better Thanksgiving food than Americans

I think this recipe is very easy… you literally just cook yams, mash them with sugar and milk, stuff back into the shells, and bake a little 😐

That sounds like a good option, thanks ^_^

What I would do if I were you is use a mixture of brown sugar and demerara sugar instead of white sugar to replicate the flavor of rum – although I’m being a nosey parker, being neither a chef nor Japanese.

that is literally, my favorite thing about this show

Is it possible to make this without the rum, what would I substitute for it? I don’t really like alcohol that much. I’m pretty sure you don’t taste it but as I said I’m not a big fan of alcohol.

I’m making this but modified the recipe slightly. I used the potatoes with condensed milk, vanilla and one egg yolk. They’re still in the oven so I’m hoping for the best!! Wish me luck XD

I HAVENT SEEN THIS CHANNEL IN OVER A YEAR BUT I THOUGHT THEY WOULD HAVE CCOKED THAT DOG BY NOW.

  14. reikodianaSeptember 24, 2013 at 10:06 amReply

Ah yes. I know that but from the video she weighed the potatoes after they were scooped out from the skin. So that’s why I thought it’s a bit incomprehensible. Anyways, thanks.

because the recipe is written for a set weight of potato. so if you have more than the recipe calls for, you need to know how to scale the recipe.

Hello aunty – I tried this recipe a couple of times and found that the mixture did not form a smooth dough. I had to use a hand blender to mash it all up as the panner remained in small chewy pieces. Can you point out what could have possibly gone wrong
