I’m trying to reply to comments, unfortunately YouTube’s new comment system
is absolute rubbish. It keeps refusing to allow me to post replies on my
own videos! I promise I’m not ignoring you ;)

I hate sweet potato but my old man loves it and I wanted to make it for him

I’m in Texas and sweet potato pie is a year round favorite in place of
pumpkin pie. You make your pie filling with extra cinnamon which is what I
do with sweet potatoes or pumpkin recipes. Yum! This looks wonderful!

If you want to try it again, bake the potatoes next time. You haven’t
really had a wonderful sweet potato pie until you’ve done it that
way…Trust me, I’m a Southerner from the States and we KNOW our taters! 😀
    LOL

Would also like to add that my wife and i are hardcore foodies and this
recipe for sweet potato pie is perfect for something we’ve wanted to try at
home for a long time. Will share our success or failure with it once done!
On a different tangent, you should consider getting your videos edited by a
professional. it makes all the difference. Give us a shout if you think
this is a good idea and we could help you there! Cheers!

Oh wow it’s so weird to me that not everyone has eaten sweet potato pie
because it’s such a staple dessert here! lol Just goes to show I live under
    a rock huh? Glad you gave it a try and enjoyed it! =}

I’m from the southeastern part of the US and it looks like you did a
fantastic job, very common dish around the holidays in the South (Dixie).
Getting it to set up firmly is key. I think most recipes are spice like
almost like pumpkin pie but with a more starchy texture. Some are not
spicy. Try the sweet potatoes soufflé, with pecans, pineapple and coconut.
Some people use cream cheese in the base. Divine!

I have never had Sweet Potato pie either. I suppose it isn’t much different
than how I normally eat a sweet potato. : I usually just bake it then put
butter and brown sugar/cinnamon on it. I’ve eaten them that way since I was
a kid, sweet potato fries were my first experience as having it savory!
Haha, new food experiences rock (sometimes 😉 ).

I live in Missouri (USA). Let the pie sit overnight at least. I usually let
my pie sit 24 hrs. To marinate and firm up really good. Either eat it cold
or warm up slightly . Mmmmmm. I have a sweet potato & apple pie that made
it in the annual (54 yr.traditional) Thanksgiving recipe book for the Troy,
    Missouri newspaper.

If you truly want to try sweet potatoes as a dessert try putting brown
sugar, chopped pecans, coconut, and melted butter on top before you bake
    that is delish……………

You did good job with sweet potato pie most people in south use cream also
in mix as good as it is it doesn’t compare to pumpkin pie but hay u r the
bomb anyway Someday try corn pudding

Though I enjoyed watching your video, I am a Southerner, and chocolate has
no place on my sweet potato pie. I also want to suggest you might want to
cut down a little on your liquids in the pie. It should be a little firmer.
Now I have never tried a strawberry rhubarb pie, and I hear they are good.
If you can get the ingredients, would you show how one of those is made,
and if you have to do anything special if the rhubarb is fresh.

What? This is your first time to have sweet potato as a dessert? Oh man,
you have been missing out. Sweet potato pie is addictive. Glad you liked
it and shared your recipe. Thanks

Hey David-I recommend trying this with nutmeg-it makes a big difference,
and I assure you its a very common addition to sweet potato and pumpkin pie
    etc. in the states.
