Much the same as I have been doing it for 50 years and I had NO one to tell
me how to do it, just common sense and practice. Few points though,
Different Countries have different varieties so just do research or look on
the bag when you buy to get the best available ones at the time for
mashing. Also nice to see a cook who finishes off by whipping at the end, I
have been using a large strong for to do this for years, works great for me
!! These mashes potatoes look really nice, unlike some on YouTube that are
overcooked and far too much cream added , making them like a soup or baby
food !

For god’s sake stop saying POTATAAAHHH !!! Ughhh !!
Ray TekDecember 19, 2013 at 7:36 am
thanks hwoods01, now i know what is a wire whisk. i just made the mashed
potato last weekend with masher, and it’s good enough without a wire whisk.
really nice recipe though.
hwoods01December 19, 2013 at 8:28 am
the last ingredients were pepper and salt. If you mean at the very end when
he served it on the plate, those green flakes are fresh chives. a Wire
whip, also called a wire whisk, and it is the last tool he used.
Ray TekDecember 19, 2013 at 9:23 am
what is wire whip?
Ray TekDecember 19, 2013 at 9:33 am

I’ve watched 4 “perfect mashed potato” videos and they’re all different.
Apparently it’s just about personal preference. I’ll continue to make them
the way my mother made them.

i find that if my milk is warm, I do not get wallpaper paste
potatoes….just light and fluffy….i think it has something to do with
the reaction between the starch and the cold milk that causes wallpaper
paste potatoes…..
john johnsonDecember 19, 2013 at 4:30 pm

I never understood how vegetarian people get all the vitamins they get from
meat they eat like vitamins from little bottles or how…
Nadiah al hasyirDecember 19, 2013 at 6:57 pm
what did you use the butter for? and at what temperature you put this in
the oven, for how long?
caramelnooseDecember 19, 2013 at 7:14 pm
Boo to not cutting a portion and showing us how it turned out. In my
experience potato gratin is quite hard to get right and the cream often
splits.
RealGhostVisionDecember 19, 2013 at 7:27 pm
@Blueball0120 Good cooks use good stoves. Half of his food is not even that
good, Gordon Ramsey wouldn’t fucking feed this shit to his dog.
