    Hi, Thanks for posting this. FYI, the reason why the onions are chopped in
    varying lengths is based on the following: there are two types of onions
    chopped for various meals. For dals, lentils, they are chopped shorter,
    more square lengths. For the sabzi’s (stir-fry) dishes, they are chopped
    longer lengths.
