My landlord would throw me out if I had an animal in my apartment. Chickens
    are impractical for many people.

actually, “classic bolognese sauce”, does include milk. by “classic” I mean
recipe that is protected by chamber of commerce in italy. as italian, you
should very well know that every mother, every grandmother has its own
recipe. bolognese sauce is made differently in every single household.
myself, I rarely use milk, but that is why cooking actually is great thing.
you cook what you like because you will eat it, not because somebody told
you that is the only way.

@GrizzlyRecoveryZone1 Milk makes the sauce so smooth and is a must for a
true bolognese sauce! Milk and slow cooking for at least 4-5 hours blends
all the flavours and you end up with a silky rich sauce which is to die for!

Lol, 3 HOURS?! No wonder the bolognese looked burnt at the end! You can
tell by the noise when she sticks the wooden spoon in to try and stir it!

Love her! I wish the Food Network in the states would air her shows. They
relegated Nigella to once a week and have Giada and Rachael Ray on 24/7.
TDL is so different. She is fabulous.

alot of times chopped tomatoes are a diff type of tomato to the canned
peeled plum tomatoes and are usually just labeled chopped tomatoes (no
plum)… u will see a difference in the color… the plum tomatoes will be
a deeper red and richer.. so yeah really the difference is the type of
tomato.. if u go to italy you will see pretty much the only tomatoes they
sell are plum tomatoes.. so even though you have to chop them yourself they
are the better option.. hope this answers your question.. 🙂
