Thank You! I don’t like frying in oil, and this recipe for both the
potatoes and the fish is great stuff.
Lyndsay WellsDecember 3, 2013 at 6:35 am
Thanks Richard 🙂 It really is a great way to cook both!
mitoku1412December 3, 2013 at 7:28 am
this recipe looks great (:
Lyndsay WellsDecember 3, 2013 at 7:44 am
Thanks 🙂

Did you try it? I would suggest to have the microwave at a very low level,
otherwise the fish will get a “gummy texture”. I myself did try this –
lovely! Thank you btw! – recipe in a Microwave/Hotair/Grill Combi, however
found out it is getting best the way Lyndsay suggests. Sorry for my
English, I am from Germany
Lyndsay WellsDecember 3, 2013 at 8:03 am
That’s a really good question – to be honest, I’m not sure because I wonder
if you would still be able to get the crispy texture. Definitely let me
know how it turns out if you try it.

I’ve always wondered if I can use a microwave oven instead. Mine is a
Whirlpool brand, and has the ‘Grill’ function. Possible?
kucibaba2December 3, 2013 at 8:40 am
I was always wondering if it is possible to bake breaded fish or pork chops
but somehow never tried. This is a great tip to add a little oil to bread
crumbs and bake it – it is way more healtly then to fry it on pan with a
lot of oil. Thank you:)
Lyndsay WellsDecember 3, 2013 at 8:40 am
@LisaDeeCanada Thanks my friend! It tastes good too 🙂
girlyeileenDecember 3, 2013 at 8:47 am

Lyndsay WellsDecember 3, 2013 at 9:47 am
Thank you so much for this lovely comment – I don’t know how I missed it.
You got my reasoning absolutely right.
Lyndsay WellsDecember 3, 2013 at 10:41 am
@kucibaba2 Adding a little oil to your breadcrumbs works great with any
kind of coating. Let me know how it turns out if you do pork chops!
bakingchinDecember 3, 2013 at 11:31 am
This looks so healthy and goooood — and easier than all that frying. Do
you think I could use strained greek yogurt instead of mayonaise? 😀
CookingwithKarmaDecember 3, 2013 at 12:11 pm
Looks delicious Lyndsay! 🙂
Lisa DeeDecember 3, 2013 at 12:57 pm

Lyndsay WellsDecember 3, 2013 at 1:36 pm
@CookingwithKarma Nothing like crispy chips!
Lyndsay WellsDecember 3, 2013 at 2:04 pm
@bakingbeauties The trick is adding a little oil to your bread crumbs.
thehungryhollowDecember 3, 2013 at 3:01 pm

Wow Alton brown lost some weight.o__o… It’s interesting to see how other
people make their nuoc mam. Never used vinegar though, and instead of
putting it on the stove we just use how water.

Looks tasty! Are you a married couple, friends, brothers??
gforcekarasDecember 3, 2013 at 9:59 pm
It’s a good thing you guys pointed out the fish sauce difference. Not all
fish sauce are the same, some are not even “fish” based as well. Usually
the saying “you get what you pay for” is really true with fish sauce. Also
a trick that my mom used to save a step is to microwave the sauce, it’s
just to dissolve the sugar faster. Saves washing up a pot. Thanks for the
upload though, great tips!
Nam TrangDecember 3, 2013 at 10:19 pm
You guys are awesome! You should take the show on the road!

Just had to say, FANTASTIC video’s! Any tips of how to store this and it’s
perishability? I’ve read that it should be kept in the fridge (some
disagree), and also some say it’s good for a week, others say it’s good for
months…:-/ Thanks for all the help! 🙂
