Quick and easy version? How about instead of substituting, use the correct
ingredients, and it will be authentic. The time frame of cooking that
would not change at all. Quick, yes. Easy, yes. Tasty, yes. authentic –
    NO!

I’m from Thailand by the way.
    I believe Ramsay really is a great chef. I’m addicted to his show too;
hell’s kitchen, for example. Anyway, I would say Gordon didn’t cook a bad
Pad Thai at all. But the reason that Thai chef didn’t like it is because
the taste of Gordon’s Pad Thai didn’t taste that authentic. Let’s think
about it this way: assuming I’m the best Thai chef of all, and I want to
try to cook Western food. I’m really knowledgeable about food since I’m a
skilled chef. Now, once the food is done, one Western chef tastes it and
says “This is good, but not to our Western tongue”. So you can see it’s all
about authenticity; not deliciousness. Right, you can cook Pad Thai
somewhere else with your extraordinary cooking style, It might be tasty as
well. However, it might not taste so authentic. And when Thai people eat
it, they might think the same as this Thai chef……”Not to me”

I bet it was the best pad thai that thai chef ever tasted, but Thais hate
it when foreigners cook their food better than them, so he would never
    admit it, what a wanker!!!

Damn, that’s exactly what Ramsay does to others. The Thai chef should have
thrown in some swear words too haha :P.

it probably tastes good but it isnt what pad thai stands for or means

Real pad thai actually is much easier to cook compaired to what gordon did
    atleast from what i see

Haha I knew it, because Many westernised Pad thai are so plain, it is often
mistaken as it’s actual authentic taste. I am not surprised Gordon didn’t
nail it the first time as he hasn’t tasted it that often. Pad Thai is one
of the most troublesome dishes to cook for some.
