hope to get this much early reply but frankly was Hapii to see it. thanks a
lot 🙂
Hi Bhavna. Thank you for showing this video. I have tried many times to
make Gathia at home with baking soda, but they usually come out hard. I
will try your recipe. In this video, you mention Sanchar as Papad Kharo.
But Sanchar as I know it is black salt. Isn’t Sanchar and Papad Kharo
different? I have lots of Sanchar at home so can I just crush it and use it
as Papad Kharo. The Sanchar I have looks like clear brown/purplish rocks &
tastes like salt & smells like eggs. Thx & Happy New Year!!
Hi, thanks for sharing your recipes. I will definitely try this. I was
wondering if you can post a video of how to make gatte ki subzi, its a Jain
subzi. I would like to make it for my mom someday.

Hi Bhawna I follow ur recipes a lot but can u tell us d exact measurement
like in gms or ltrs bcoz the same container may not b available with all of
us like u say half of cup that cup may be of diff sizes ……. Hope u can
help us with this. i find it difficult to get d exact measurements. if u
can tell us to use 200 gms for a recipe or 1/2 ltr of milk instead of half
cup it will b of great help for the common users who don’t know abt d exact
measurements 🙂 But will always use ur help 🙂
I don’t see why you are so disdainful of these people. Sanitation and
hygiene are luxuries that few can actually afford, especially in places
where water is scarce and clean water is virtually unheard of. These people
are working hard and doing their best with resources available to them. The
fact that they can take negligible ingredients and turn them into minor
masterpieces under these circumstances is something to be admired, not
denigrated.
yes,you are right ,most of the people in india are very poor people, who
don’t have a lot to eat,and dogs and cats in some countries may be btter
off than them.but the rich people in india, eat very good food, and the food
that the Europeans and americans eat when they come to india are rich
people’s food, very well cooked, hygienically and with the spices toned down
to suit the European palate. the food that rich people eat in india is very
healthy,fresh food,not preserved,and tasty…
yes,you would fall ill if you had food from the food stall featured in the
video..i myself would not have food from there..i cook food at home a lot.
I think Europeans have good standards of hygiene..and poverty is one of the
reasons why a lot of Indians do not..i know that Indians who are well off
,are quite hygienic at home.however, the people who aet at these foo stalls
have a greater immunity and strong resistance to a lot of diseases than me
and a lot of other people..
It doesn’t cost a penny to practice proper hygiene and sanitation. It is
their cultural mentality that needs to be broken. It goes a long long way
in improving public health image and India’s street food image.
if I had the privilege of owning a good quality camera like this, producing
good definition, I would learn how to use it effectively. I would learn how
to zoom in, how to show the viewer an occasional important detail. In this
way I would avoid producing a boring movie. I would add a few comments
describing what is going on so the viewer who has never visited this city
knows what the subject is doing, what things are called etc.
most of these stalls do not have licenses to operate and just get by ,by
bribing the officials.so they don’t have water supply,to wash hands and to
keep the place clean.they also don’t yhave money to get aluminium new
,clean aluminium vessels, and clean clothes etc. also,it takes a little
extra time,to serve one customer,if one cares about hygiene.they survive by
selling to a large number of customers,as the cost per plate is very
small.the customers also are more concerned about the price .
