I do the fried version of sambal belacan too. Except that I pound the
ingredients instead of grinding them in a blender. But I don’t use cili
api, too hot! I pound red chilies with belacan, tomato, onion, garlic, salt
and sugar. Then I fry it in olive oil, squeezing lime into it while frying,
and I add a li’l bit of chopped cilantro or culantro..

virlarreNovember 20, 2013 at 1:51 pm
@Justtocommentate kind of. but for nasi lemak, u’ve to add some anchovies
and the chilli used is dried chilli. that’s the only differences. 🙂
Sn0w1174November 20, 2013 at 2:08 pm
Hi is this the chilli used for ayam masak merah?

tamarind > asam extract > pati so it simply means air asam jawa
