The Frugal Gourmet, aired by WTTW Chicago, was one of many cooking shows that I watched in the mid 80’s. I recall thinking that Jeff Smith was pretty hilario…

I hate people who say ” my cuisine is the best in the world” although they
have never tasted any other food from any other country…it’s pathetic …
theozfanFebruary 7, 2014 at 12:53 pm
How nice to see that some young people still respect their elders.
fibreoptikFebruary 7, 2014 at 1:09 pm
@theozfan until those young people grow up, toss the elders in a home and

It’s interesting when he mentions here (in lots of other episodes, too)
that he has one main burner that has all the heat and power, because I am
pretty sure they are all made like that now. At least, my gas range has the
front right burner larger and more powerful than the others. I agree with
him that it’s essential to have, and I hardly ever need it above medium.
bottomshotFebruary 7, 2014 at 6:46 pm
thanks so much for posting some of the more obscure episodes, don’t think
your work goes unappreciated!
