Can I use any spirit. For the alcohol part?
Cassio ContiNovember 30, 2013 at 6:05 am
Brazillians are everywhere, some say we’re like a plague or something XD
Yay for the power of the internet!!! Oh, and if any of your friends is from
southern Brazil, tell them I said hi! 😀 (the reason for this is strange
even for me, but it seemed like the right thing to say)

In France, we say that lazy people have no choice but to be a bit clever !
😉 I asked because I got friends from Brazil here in Paris, and also
because I just love the fact that we are an international youtube channel
(I mean we, the french guy cooking family :))))

It was really one of the best things I’ve ever tasted, and most likely it
wasn’t even done properly. As some say, adptation is the best feature of a
lazy person! 😀 Yes, born and raised in Brazil, why do you ask?
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 8:25 am
Yeah ! No problem, just skip the alcohol stuff. Or you can replace it by a
bit of fruit juice (white grape juice diluted ) or by a bit of
Worcestershire sauce also diluted.

Thanks for your amazing videos ! Is there anyway to do it without alcohol ?
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 9:22 am
Your dish sounds totally mouthwatering ! And one thing I love it that you
did adapt to the local / available products you had 😉 By the way, You live
in Brazil ?
Cassio ContiNovember 30, 2013 at 10:18 am
Just finished eating it, one of the best meals I’ve ever made. I used a cut
that here in Brazil we call “alcatra”, I believe it’s about the same as
sirloin/top sirloin, and jamaica, green and black peppers. I didn’t have
chinese booze, so i just used vodka. Along with the greens I made some rice
with smoked paprika as a side dish. The creaminess of the sauce along with
the aroma and taste of the peppers on a juicy medium rare steak were simply
perfection. Thank you so much for this!
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 11:04 am
You will love it for sure ! Take care and don’t use too much alcohol if
that is your first flambé
victor224November 30, 2013 at 11:21 am
Brilliant idea! I should get my hands on some sczechuan peppercorns
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 11:24 am
Well, as mentioned in the video, this is a really dangerous part… I am
glad you are still with us 😉
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 11:50 am
Thanks you ! Yes, I live in Paris, France 😉

I almost died while doing the flambe but the steak was Delicious so I guess
it was worth loosing my eyebrows.
randomjuggler2010November 30, 2013 at 1:07 pm
Do you live in france? Great video btw 🙂
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 1:31 pm
I am so glad you like it ! Welcome friend !
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 2:01 pm
This is interesting but sadly, I did not experience that effect… Thanks
for sharing by the way !
Brian MerrittNovember 30, 2013 at 2:52 pm
great job again French Guy! The bit with the Chinese booze was hilarious…
laterjadeNovember 30, 2013 at 3:17 pm
These Sichuan peppercorns are the ones with the strange numbing effect,
yes? Did you find that it changed the way the steak tasted significantly? I
am quite intrigued by the idea of using them outside of Chinese recipes.
Cheers on making such fun videos!
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 3:24 pm
Man ! I feel glad and sorry for you at the same time ! A flambé is
something quite dangerous that should be done with extra care. As cooking
is amazing and fun, we must not forget that this can be really dangerous
sometimes. I hope you did not hurt yourself. Cheers 😉

Dear FGC, I have made one of my best home steaks to date with your recipe.
Unfortunately, I burnt my kitchen exhaust fan with the flambe 🙁 So it has
also been my most delicious and expensive homemade steak so far!!
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 3:52 pm
Hey Welcome on board friend 😉
French Guy CookingNovember 30, 2013 at 4:39 pm
